INLAND EMPIRE VETERINARY MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
Serving the Veterinarians of Spokane, Lincoln, Whitman, Adams, Stevens and Pend Oreille Counties in Washington State.
The IEVMA provides area veterinarians with opportunities for continuing education, networking, mutual support, and, through monthly business meeting, discussion of issues relevant to veterinarians, veterinary practices and the future of veterinary medicine. Our organization has a long history of working with regional animal control agencies, humane societies, the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University and the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association to promote programs that benefit animal health, safety and well-being beyond the doors of the individual practices. In addition, we have a close working relationship for continuing education meetings with the North Idaho VMA, with many NIVMA members also being members of our association.
We promote programs which benefit animal health and veterinary medicine in the Inland Northwest. Examples of such programs have included subsidizing canine blood banking, free adoption examinations for pets from shelters, the Free Veterinary Clinic at DHH, veterinary student scholarships, pet oxygen masks for the fire department, an Explorer Scout post, training for animal assistance during a disaster, vouchers for low cost cat neutering, continuing education for veterinarians and staff, and dental care for pets of homeless individuals. In addition, we partner with the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association, and the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine to support programs and veterinary students for the betterment of veterinary medicine in this region.
